NFC Pro Bowl. Bad Choices in the offense? You Pick.

Hey guys, I'm going to tell you some of the people that are starting in the NFC Pro Bowl Offense. I want you to tell me if you disagree with some of the picks the NFL (National Football League) made, or if I didn't mention someone that you think is good. I'll look up whoever that person is then tell you.
Here are the quarter backs (QBs).Starter Michael Vick threw 21 touchdowns and 6 interceptions. Aaron Rodgers threw 27 touchdowns and 10 interceptions, and all of those interceptions were from pretty good defenses. Matt Ryan threw 26 touchdowns and 9 interceptions. That's not bad! So, do you think Aaron Rodgers or Matt Ryan deserve the start more than Michael Vick?
Now lets go to the running backs (RBs) spot. The starter is Michael Turner who rushed for 1,304 yards and 11 touchdowns. Ahmad Bradshaw rushed for 1,213 yards and 8 touchdowns. Adrian Peterson rushed for 1,267 yards and 12 touchdowns. Do you think Ahmad Bradshaw or Adrian Peterson deserve it more than Michael Turner?
Now to the wide receivers (WR). Starter Roddy White had 1,327 yards and 9 touchdowns. The other starter Calvin Johnson had 1,120 yards and 12 touchdowns. Marques Colston had 1,023 yards and 7 touchdowns. Larry Fitzgerald had 1,012 yards and 5 touchdowns. DeSean Jackson had 1,056 yards and 6 touchdowns (1 was an 80 yard reception!). Greg Jennings had 1,168 yards and 12 touchdowns. Hakeem Nicks had 1,052 yards and 11 touchdowns. Do you think Marques Colston, Larry Fitzgerald, DeSean Jackson, Greg Jennings, or Hakeem Nicks could of got it instead of Roddy White or Calvin Johnson?
NFC Logo
Now the tight ends (TEs). The starter Jason Witten went for 956 yards and 8 touchdowns. Kevin Boss went for 502 yards and 8 touchdowns. Brent Celek went for 511 yards and 4 touchdowns. Chris Cooley went for 796 yards and 3 touchdowns. Vernon Davis went for 818 yards and 6 touchdowns. Tony Gonzalez went for 603 yards and 5 touchdowns. Brandon Pettigrew went for 703 yards and 4 touchdowns. Visanthe Shiancoe went for 517 yards and 2 touchdowns. Kellen Winslow went for 702 yards and 5 touchdowns. Do you think Kevin Boss, Brent Celek, Chris Cooley, Vernon Davis, Tony Gonzalez, Brandon Pettigrew, or Visanthe Shiancoe deserved it more than Jason Witten.
Now the kickers. The starter David Akers was 30-36. Matt Bryant was 27-30. John Carney was 5-6. Jay Feeley was 24-27. Ryan Longwell was 15-16. Do you think Matt Bryant, John Carney, Jay Feeley, or Ryan Longwell deserved it more than David Akers.
Bye!!!

Christmas Rules (Part 1)

Hi, this is a special blog because Christmas is coming! I'll tell you what I got from all of my Christmas parties. The 1st Christmas was at my grandma & grandpa's house, and guess what? Santa came there! 3 good things happened and 1 bad thing, the bad thing is the Iowa Hawkeyes lost to the Minnesota Gophers, the good things are I beat my cousin in  Game Cube 42 me. 27 him. It was a woop out! I was the Arizona Cardinals and he was the Denver Broncos. The other good thing is I gambled and won some money. The last good thing is that I got Electronic Scrabble! I usually get 8 out of 42 or something, it's hard! My brother got the game Hedbanz, I usually look  in the mirror to see what I am! Then I had Christmas with my grandma & grandpa Fort Dodge. I got one of those cars that flip upside down, flarp, a Ricky Stanzi jersey, a Hawkeye banner, a notebook and a folder, I got a lot from there! I couldn't remember what I got from the other party. Please tell me what you got from St. Nick when you comment on this blog, thanks, bye!

Two-Minute Drill (Part 1)

Hey guys, I'm going to talk to you about a book I read called Two-Minute Drill. I got 100% on the A.R. quiz, and that got me the A.R. challenge! I have 47.5 points! Okay, now I'll talk about the book. Scott was a new kid at school. He wants everyone to be his friend, except Jimmy Dolan. They were both waiting for the bus when all of a sudden Jimmy started picking on him then dumped everything out of  his backpack! Then jimmy found a picture of Scott's dog Casey, he got it before Scott did and then he started to embarrass him in front of everybody, then one of  the most popular kids told Jimmy to stop, then he actually did!!!

I'll tell you what happens one of  my blogs coming up, bye!

LUNAR ECLIPSE!!!!!!!!

Lunar Eclipse!!!
Okay, you know we talked about the lunar eclipse today in social studies. So I think I'll give you a little flashback if you weren't listening. Did you know a lunar eclipse hasn't been seen in 372 years!? Well, I don't believe that, do you? The lunar eclipse will happen very early Tuesday morning. I don't think you'll be able to take a picture of it, or you probably wouldn't even want to! On the East Coast of North America, the lunar eclipse will begin a half an hour after midnight on Tuesday. On the West Coast it begins around 9:30 p.m. Well, just maybe you might stay up really late see it, or get up really really really early to see it!

Bye!

Randy Moss is not catching passes (from my iGoogle page)

Hey guys, I'm talking about Randy Moss. For the truth I think the Tennessee Titan's QB Kerry Collins is targeting other people instead of Randy Moss on purpose. He's targeting Chris Johnson, Bo Scaife, Nate Washington, and Kenny Britt. Britt leads the Titans in touchdowns (7 touchdowns in 9 games). Hey, guess what's funny? Randy Moss keeps a notebook for defensive backs he plays over the years, and the tricks they at least try to do on him. Well, hope you liked my blog, bye!

Metrodome Roof Collapse Video from Inside (480p)

Hi, Kayd here, do you like the Minnesota Vikings?

If you do this is not a good blog, but if you like Brett Favre this is a good blog. Do you know what happened? If you don't here's what happened, their stadium roof broke. Okay, it started to cave in it sounded like a drum roll, then snow started to fall, and then a big pile of snow fell! Then another big pile of snow fell!

It was not really fun to watch, and imagine if you or a game was being played in their, and that would be bad. They were supposed to play the New York Giants. They cannot play in New York because that's another home game for them, and that's not fair. Where their playing now isn't quite fair, either. They're playing in Detroit, and that's not fair because Detroit is a rival, and all the people at Detroit are free. So the Detroit fans will come and cheer against the Vikings. Well, we'll see what happens tonight, bye!

FIRE!!!

"Get out of here"!
Oh there you are, I was just reading about fire! It's alright, there really isn't a fire here. Although, a fire can happen at any time of the day or night. So, every month check your fire alarm and make sure that the batteries aren't dead. You should have a spacial meeting place outside. Every week, practice getting out of your house as quick as you can and meet at your meeting place. Ahh! A fire better get out of here, bye!

TORNADOES/CYCLONES

Tornado from Oklahoma
Have you ever seen s tornado or a cyclone? We have some tornadoes around Carroll sometimes. They both are very dangerous. I wouldn't want to stand in the middle of one, and I'm sure you wouldn't want to stand in one either.
They come in all shapes and sizes. Do you think there is a difference between a cyclone and a tornado? There is, a cyclone twists the opposite way from a tornado. If a cyclone/tornado is in the water, it's a waterspout. Have you ever seen a show called storm chasers? They chase tornadoes! It's awesome. I learned a lot from them. It's on Discovery Channel on Wednesday at 9:00 p.m., see yah!

ARIZONA CARDINALS V.S. ATLANTA FALCONS page 1-8

Hey guys, here's a story that I wrote, better go grab some popcorn or something because this is a long blog, hope you like it: "Hi, my name is Kayd Nissen, and this is the Hall of Fame Game! Tonight the Arizona Cardinals will host the Atlanta Falcons. We're in the dome so we won't have to worry about the weather tonight. Breaking news has just come in, it seems as if that Matt Leinart the Cardinal's QB has done something, lets go to Tom for more information, Tom"? "Yeah Kayd, it seems that Matt Leinart has suffered a hamstring injury and will be out 6-14 weeks, so you'll see either Derek Anderson or Max Hall tonight, Kayd"? "For the truth I do not really think they need him because he can barely hand the ball off! Now lets go down to the field for the opening kickoff. The Cardinals will get the ball first. The kicker for the Falcons (M.Bryant #3) will kick off. It's a bomb down the field, the kick returner (L.Stephens-Howling #29) will make a move and will be brought down, no he's going the 40-50-40-30-20-10 and will be tackled at the 7 yard line! Now Max Hall will come on to the field for the 1st time tonight. They'll line up in the eye formation, gets the snap, QB (M.Hall #6) will pitch it to the HB (J.Wright #31) running... TOUCHDOWN!!! When you look at this replay again you can see the FB (R.Mauia #45) come up and just nail the beepin out of  the LB ( C.Lofton #50) to get him in to the end zone for the score! The kicker (J.Feely #4) will make the extra point. Now the score is, the Cardinals 7 Falcons 0. Now the kicker (J.Feely #4) will kickoff to either (J.Norwood # 32, E.Weems # 14) for the kick return. The kick returner (J.Norwood #32) will return the ball from inside the end zone, and will be tackled at the 17 yard line by a LB (J.Porter #55). The QB ( J.Wilson #4) will be in the shotgun alone. Gets the snap, looks deep into the hands of the safety's hands (A.Wilson # 24) but the wide receiver (H.Douglas #83) knocks it out of his hands. Well it's 2nd and 10. There's one back. Hands it up the middle to the HB(G.Johnson #27) for a gain of 2. They'll hand it to the HB (M.Turner #33) along the outside who hands it to the wide receiver (E.Weems #14) wait, it's a fake but the Cardinal defense didn't buy it and only got 3 yards. That will bring up 4th down. The punter (M.Koenen #9) really got a good punt there. The punt returner (S.Breaston#15) will return it to the 30 yard line. Now the QB (D.Anderson #3) will come on to the field for his 1st time but the offenses 2nd time tonight. The HB (B.Wells #26) will run it up the middle, running room, and will get tackled at the 48 yard line. The wide receiver (S.Breaston #15) will be in the shot gun, did you know that Steve Breaston was a QB in high school! He motions MAX HALL to the right, throws it to the QB (M.Hall #6), looks deep, throws to the wide receiver (L.Fitzgerald #11)! There are 2 people to beat, breaks 1 tackle, the other safety (E.Coleman #26) is waiting for him at the goal line, he jumps over him! What a play, oh my gosh, I've never seen anything like that! The kicker (J.Feely #4) will make the extra point. The score is Arizona 14 Atlanta 0. Now lets look at the drive chart: Plays:2 Yards:70 Main Player: #11 Larry Fitzgerald. The kick will be returned from the 2 yard line, he makes a move and will be brought down at the 22 yard line. The QB (J.Wilson #4) is in the shot gun next to HB (G.Johnson # 27). He hands it to the HB (G.Johnson #27), he hands it to the WR (B.Finneran #86), acts like he's running it, but he actually throws it to the QB (J.Wilson #4), but it's over thrown! That Arizona defense got a huge break there! It looks like the QB (C.Redman #8) is in the wide-out possession, and the HB (M.Turner #34) is in the wild cat! He passes it to a WR (R.White #84) who reverses direction and hands it to the QB (C.Redman #8) then he throws it to a WR (M.Jenkins #12) into Arizona territory at the 29 yard line! The QB(J.Wilson #4) is in the shot gun alone. He gets the snap throws a quick strike to the TE (M.Palmer #81) it slips threw his hands and into the safety's (A.Wilson #24), he is running 30-40-50-40-30-20-10-5 TOUCHDOWN ARIZONA!!! That was a 64 yard return for that awesome touchdown! Last year this defense could barely stop a team on 1st down, and now they're returning 64 yard touchdowns? That's crazy! The kicker (J.Feely #4) makes the extra point. Now the score is the Cardinals 21 the Falcons 0. There is 6:13 left to go in the 1st quarter. I feel this game is starting to become a blowout. The kicker (J.Feely #4) kicks it into the end zone, but the kick returner (E.Weems #14) returns and will get 6 more yards in front of a touch back. They'll start at the 26 yard line, they better get something going on offense or this is going to be a long night. A late flag comes in now, here's the referee"."Illegal block in the back, on the receiving team, 10 yard penalty, 1st down"." So that will bring up 1st and 20 on the 16 yard line. That doesn't help at all. For the 1st time in this game the Atlanta starting QB (M.Ryan #2) will be int the game. The starting QB (M.Ryan #2)will be in the shot gun alone, he gets the snap, a lot of pressure, and the NT (B.Robinson #96) got to him, and brought him down for a 8 yard loss! That will bring up 2nd & 28 on the 8 yard line. There is 2:12 remaining in the 1st quarter. The QB (M.Ryan #2) will pitch it to the HB (M.Turner #33) who fakes the hand off to a WR (R.White #84) and is running down the side line. He breaks a tackle, but the safety (A.Wilson #24) is using everything he has, and it seems he will bring him down, and he will at the Arizona 48 yard line! What a run, but what a way of never giving up by the safety (A.Wilson #24)!The QB (M.Ryan #2) is in the shot gun alone, it looks like the 2 wide receivers (H.Douglas #83, B.Finneran #86) are running a crossing rout, and the WR (H.Douglas #83) is wide open! Well, that's a 20 yard gain. Now they're in the eye formation, they hand it to the FB (J.Snelling #44) who takes all the way to the 16 yard line! Not a bad run for a FB there. That's a 7 yard gain, and that will bring up 2nd & 3. The QB (C.Redman #8) is in the shot gun, gets the snap, looks for the end zone, did he have 2 feet in? It looks like he had 2 feet in, but when he hit the ground the ball kind of bounced, but the call it a touchdown. There gos the red flag from the Cardinals head coach. He looked at the play for a couple minutes and said","over the review of the play the player had 2 feet in, but when he hit the ground the ball bounced, there for the call is reversed"."I thought he bobbled the ball a little. That will bring up 3rd & 3. The HB (M.Turner #33) is the only back. They're going off tackle this run, but he bounces to the outside, but the Cardinals defense didn't buy it and the HB only gained a yard. Now the kicker (M.Bryant #3) will get and easy chip shot here. It splits the uprights. That's the end of the 1st quarter. Here are some stats:
Atlanta Falcon's Running:70 yards
Atlanta Falcon's Receiving:91 yards
Arizona Cardinal's Running:25 yards
Arizona Cardinal's Receiving:52 yards
Not bad for the 1st quarter. Now the kicker (M.Bryant #3) will kickoff for Atlanta. The kick returner (M.Komar #18) will take it from the 2, and gets brought down at the 27 yard  line. It looks like a new QB (J.Skelton #19) is playing now. He hands it to the HB (L.Stephens-Howling #36) who carries it for 7 yards. Nice block by the left guard (R.Hadnot #70). The QB (J.Skelton #19) is in the shot gun with dime backs (T.Hightower #34, J.Wright #31). There is 12:44 left to go in the 2nd quarter. He hands it to the HB (T.Hightower #34) for 4 yards. 1st down CARDINALS!
Hope you like my story, I'll type more when I right more, bye!

ALL ABOUT FANTASY FOOTBALL

Hi guys, have you heard of Fantasy Football? It's something you do online. You pick players from all of the teams in the NFL. Here's how you score points. Lets start with QBs, a touchdown is 6 points, a 10 yard throw is 1 point, a 20 yard throw is 2 points. Now to WRs, TEs and RBs they score the same. A 5 yard run is 1 point, a 10 yard reception is 1 point, a 20 yard reception is 2 points, and a TD is 6 points. Now the kicker extra point is 1, and a field goal is 3 points. Now the defense. Interception and a fumble is 2 points.

Here's my Fantasy Team: QB Joe Flacco and Mark Sanchez, RB Chris Johnson, Felix Jones, and Tim Hightower, and Marshawn Lynch, WR Steve Breaston and Wes Welker, TE Todd Heap and Tony Gonzelez, K Shayne Graham, D/ST Baltimore Ravens and San Francisco 49ers, bye!

Adrian Peterson!!!!!

college career
NFL career
Hi guys and gals. I'm going to talk to you about the Minnesota Vickings running back, arguably
the best running back Adrian Peterson! He was born on March 21 in Palestine, Texas. If you were paying attention you should know this but he plays for the Minnesota Vickings. I think he's the best RB although I don't like Minnesota. He can break a lot of tackles and run fast at the same time! Wow. isn't he good! He was also very good in his college years in Oklahoma! He's had 5,500 rushing yards and 48 TDs! I bet he'll have a lot more in a couple more years, bye!

LARRY FITZGERALD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Larry Fitzgerald was born Aug. 31. He was drafted 3rd overall in the 2004 draft by the Arizona Cardinals. He played college for Pitt. For 3 years starting at the age of 15 Fitzgerald was the ball boy for the Minnesota Vickings!!!!!! I've seen a show called Science Sports or Sports Science and Larry was catching balls upside down! Oh, I almost forgot here are some awards he earned: First Team All America in 2003, Fred Bilentnikoff Award in 2003, Paul Warfield Trophy in 2003, Walter Camp Award in 2003, Pro Bowl Selection in 2005, 2007, 2008, 2009, First Team All Pro Selection in 2008 and 2009, NFC Champion in 2008, and Pro Bowl MVP in 2009. Is that a lot or what!!! Lets get to some stats now: rec. 558, receiving yards 7,368, and TDs, 63. This is his 7th year as pro. I think he wants to retire this year though. He is 1 of the most athletic people in the league, look at those pics you now what I mean!? In college no doubt he was the best WR! Maybe when they win the Super Bowl for once, he mite be the Super Bowl MVP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

IOWA'S QB RICKY STANZI

He was born in Mentor, Ohio in 1987 Sept. 3. He's 23 right now. Stanzi went to Lake Catholic High school. He was replaced by James Vandenberg on Nov. 7, 2009 because of a right ankle sprain. He had to have surgery. He was able to return in time for a game that they won against the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets in the Orange Bowl. In 2009 he passed for 2,417 yards and 17 touchdowns. Maybe this year he'll pass for more. When I grow up I'm going to be just like him, I hope, bye!

BURJ DUBAI

Kayd here. I'm going to talk to you about the world's tallest building, the Burj Dubai. They started building it on Sept. 21 , 2004 and ended on Jan. 4, 2010. It cost $1.5 billion dollars!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Then they changed the name to the Burj Khalifa to honor the UAE president for his crucial support. Out of 900 apartments 825 were still empty. Here are some record breaking things that it broke.
  • Tallest structure ever built:2,717 feet
  • Tallest extant structure:2,717 feet

IOWA OR IOWA STATE CYCLONES I WOULD RECOMMEND IOWA

Hi, did you know Iowa has beat ISU 39 times! Here's the picture of the trophy that they won every 39 years, the Cy-Hawk Trophy. I don't like ISU, ugh! I think we should look at ISU's schedule. We should dominate Eastern Illinois, witch we did, then run over ISU, witch we did win 35-3. Last year ISU finished 6-6. Their biggest win was over the Nebraska Cornhuskers, with a 9-7 win. Yes, Nebraska had 8 turnovers. But, ISU had the ball 33:40, almost 5 min. more than the Cornhuskers. Nebraska on offense had 362 yards and 15 1st downs, when the ISU offense had only 11 1st downs and only 239 yards. ISU also  beat Baylor and Colorado to add to 3 conference wins. They lost games to Kansas and Kansas State witch could of been a win, they beat Minnesota 14-13 in the Insight Bowl. Their defense gives up a lot of points and can rarely stop an offense. I don't think they'll be able to hold a team under 20 points if they don't get a all new defense. Even back then ISU's defense was ranked 99th in the nation, and they allowed 415 yards per average, and 165.69 rushing yards on the ground, that's a lot!!! They haven't scored a TOUCHDOWN against IOWA since 2007,bye!

18 IOWA V.S. 5 MICHIGAN STATE

Hello. I'm going to talk to you about probably the biggest woop out and biggest win for the Iowa Hawkeyes! They faced the 5th ranked undefeated Michigan State Spartins. They played in Iowa City where all of their roaring fans were hoping for a win. I was watching the game at my grandma's house when I saw Tyler Sash intercept it and pitch it to the rookie Micah Hyde who broke so many tackles he took it in for a TOUCHDOWN! The game was over by halftime with a ending score 34-9! Here's a picture of the interception, bye!

THANKSGIVING

Hey, Kayd here. I'm going to talk to you about Thanksgiving! Thanksgiving means a lot to me. Although I do not like turkey. I want to thank Abraham Lincoln , the pilgrims, and the Indians or Native Americans for making this a holiday. I love to watch football games on Thanksgiving. Usually the Seattle Seahawks, Dallas Cowboys, Detroit Lions, and sometimes the Oakland Raiders play. I usually go to someone my dad knows for Thanksgiving. Honestly the only stuff I like in that huge feast is butter bread and corn. I don't like mashed patatoes, vegetables, or turkey. I have a lot of fun with everyone there. Like last time these 2 guys went outside and played catch with us! And 1 of them wanted to be called Peyton Manning! I love to see all of my family members during Thanksgiving.

P.S. Thanksgiving is an awesome holiday to hang out with family members have a great one, bye!

ATLANTA FALCONS

The Atlanta Falcons play in the Georgia Dome. They're in the NFC South along with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, New Orleans Saints, and the Carolina Panthers The Falcons joined the NFL in 1965. I think that's while ago! They've won their division 3 times 1980, 1998, and 2004. They've been in the super bowl once and lost to the Denver Broncos. The Atlanta Falcon's franchise began on June 30, 1965. The Falcons had their 1st season in 1966, and their 1st preseason game on August 1st. But they lost to the Philadelphia Eagles. They lost their 1st 9 regular season games (0-9). Their 1st win came against the New York Giants. The team finished with 12 wins (12-4). In the 1978 season, they got in their 1st playoffs. They won the wild card game against the Eagles 14-13. But the following week they lost to the Dallas Cowboys 20-27. The next year they lost to the Dallas Cowboys again 30-27. The next year they lost to the Minnesota Vickings 30-24. Their coach Leeman Bennett was fired after that game. In 1991 the Falcons drafted Brett Favre. That year the season ended because of a loss to the Washington Redskins. In 1992 they moved to the Georgia Dome. On November 8, they won a huge game over the New England Patriots, with the final score 41-10. Atlanta ended in red hot 14-2. And their mascot is even named Freddie the Falcon. On January 8, 1999, the Falcons upset the 1 loss Minnesota Vickings. And guess what they were at home! They won 30-27. However in their 1st super bowl they lost to the Denver Broncos 34-19. Then in the 2001 draft they picked up arguably the best QB ever Micheal Vick!

ARIZONA CARDINALS

There were 4 different cardinal teams, the Chicago Cardinals, St.Louis Cardinals, Phoenix Cardinals, and the cardinals who play now the Arizona Cardinals! They play in Glendale, Arizona, witch I think they should play in their capital Phoenix. There are 2 big sections in the NF:L and their are 4 little parts in each section. The 2 big parts are NFC (Arizona plays in) and AFC. The little parts are the same thing in each one. The little parts are the Western Division (Arizona plays), Eastern Division, Northern Division, and Southern Division. There are 4 teams in each division. Arizona plays with the Seattle Seahawks, St.Louis Rams, and San Francisco 49ers. They play in a stadium called the University of Phoenix Stadium. I do not know why they call it University of Phoenix when they play in Glendale. It's a dome. When they were a new team they would win just barely so they called them the Cardiac Cards and because they wouldn't get confused with the baseball team the St.Louis Cardinals. They've won their division a couple times made it to the super bowl once and lost to the Steelers. They have 3 different uniforms white (away), red (home), and black (special). The team had to move from Chicago to St.Louis because the Chicago Bears came along and played really good football so people stopped watching the Cardiac Cards. When they played in Phoenix their stadium was called Sun Devil Stadium. Then the Arizona Cardinals came along and are very hopeful to win their 1st super bowl title. And I almost forgot Kurt Warner is the best QB and Larry Fitzgerald is the best WR!
HOPE YOU LEARNED SOMETHING, BYE!

WILLIAM HENRY HARRISON the 8th president

Harrison was president a little longer than 1/2 a year. He was born in Berkely in 1773. He studied classics and history at Hampden-Sydney-College, then began the study of medicine in Richmond. Suddenly that same year, 1791, he switched interests. He obtained a commission as ensign in the First Infantry in the Regular Army, and headed Northwest, where he spent most of his life. On April 4, 1841, he died.

MARTIN VAN BUREN

Martin Van Berun became president 1837-1841. Only about 5 feet, 6 inches tall, but trim erect, Van Buren dressed fastidiously. He was born in Kinderhook, New York in 1782. As a young lawyer he became involved in many politics. By 1827 he had emerged as the principal northern leader for Andrew Jackson. President Jackson rewarded him by appointing him Secretary of State. He died in 1862.

MY FRIDAY LEARNING BLOG WEEK 4

Hi, Kayd here. I'm going to tell you what I learned in school this week. Lets start with math, I learned how to add and sub.money. It' the same thing as regular sub. but you have to have a decimal between the ones of the dollars and tens of the cents. Now lets go to grammar, we are going to learn what a verb is and how to put it in a sentence correctly. A verb is an action, lets say our verb is throw, does this sentence sound right? My brother throw the ball. No! See if the noun is plural don't add an s at the end of the verb, and if it's singular add s to the end of your verb.

JOHN ADAMS the 2nd president

John Adams was the 2nd president of the United States. Adams was born in the Massachusetts Colony Bay in 1735. And became president in 1797-1801. During the Revolutionary War he served France and Holland. And he even started peace. He was Vice President of George Washington.
The war between the French and British was causing trouble to the United States of America because we needed to get across the high seas. So Adams sent a couple of commissioners to France. But in the Spring of 1798 the word from the French Foreign Minister had refused unless they bribed. So Adams sent a peace treaty instead. And that's the end.

Those islands were called East Indies. Early Americans came to this part of the world from different countries. Scientists think the first Americans came from Asia! However they got here Americans have been living over 11,000 years!!!!!!!!!!

MY FRIDAY LEARNING BLOG WEEK 3

I learned how to do 3 digit subtraction! Here's our problem. 45 - 38. Can you take 5-8? No! So you go next door to the 4 cross it out and make it a 3 than carry the 1 back to the 5 and it becomes 15. Than subtract 15 from 8 is 7. Than subtract 3-3 is 0. So your answer is 7.

Now lets 2 digit multiplication. Lets say our problem is 45x30. You just drop the 0 than you multiply 3x5 witch is 15 so put the 5 down and put the 1 by the 4 and than multiply 3x4 witch is 12 plus 1 is 13 so your answer is 135. Well got to go I hope you learned something today.

SCORPIONS

Scorpions are very scary animals to me. They have been on earth longer than most animals. They been living for more than 450 years. That's longer than dinosaurs! But how long is 450 years? Well pretend you are counting dollar bills. And pretend you count one dollar every second. It would take you more than 11 days to get to 1 million! To reach 450 million, you would have to count one dollar for more than 14 years!!!

BEETLES

Did you know beetles are one of the most common insects? There are many different types of beetles. Each kind looks different. Some beetles have horns. Beetles are found everywhere except Antarctica and the Arctic. They like hot places. They usually are found on land but some of them live underground. Many beetles fly. Most beetles eat plants but beetles can be harmful to plants, too.

I haven't read the hole thing yet but it's a good book. There are these 2 teenagers named Stevie Thomas and Susan Carol. They're sportswriters. They solve mysteries for example here's one that they solved there was glamorise russian girl at the U.S. Open and disappeared before her first match! And they solved the mystery. They said the kidnapping was planned so she didn't just disappear. But sadly Susan's uncle was involved and was likely to end up in jail. And know a TV producer asks if they want to be on a show for 1 year. But the parents say no. So they double the offer and say that they'll pay for college. So they agree. And then they come back and say Stevie is fired because he needs more sizzle they said. And he did everything for them!  And he wants to tell Susan about it but then his dad says that her family needs the money. And that's when I had to stop.

FACE TO FACE WITH AN ANT!!!!

A single large family lives in the anthills. The queen is like the mother in the colony. The queens job is to lay eggs. Almost all her children are female. Eggs and larvae fill the nursery. Ants are always busy. They work until danger is near.[ the lizard is the most common enemy to the ants. The guard stretches its antennae to search for danger. The ant spreads a strong smell to warn of threat. Then guards immediately attack. When ants meat the smell each other and touch antennae. if they are not from the same nest they fight. If many ants work together they can kill a grasshopper!

CORAL SNAKES

Coral snakes are poisonous, it can be very powerful. They usually are hiding you might see them under rocks or logs. Their fangs are short and do not fold back. Coral snakes in the United States have red, black, and yellow rings around their body.

NEW ORLEANS SAINTS V.S. NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS

This a little bit of a book that I wrote.

"Hello there. My name is Kayd Nissen and this is the Hall of Fame Game! Now lets go down to the field for the opening kickoff". The New England Patriots will get the ball first. Garett Hartley will kickoff for the Saints. He kicks it to the eight yard line. He makes a move and he'll be tackled. And know the Patriot offense will come on to the field for the first time today. Brian Hoyer is in the shot gun next to BenJarvus Green- Ellis."Hike"! He fires a bullet to Sam Aiken. "These people are the second string in the line up but they are not bad players".First and ten on the forty- one yard line."Hike"! He hands off to BenJarvus for maybe a yard if lucky."Ready Hut". "Flags on the play and here's the call,"offsides defense five yard penalty repeat second down". "It's a running play no it's a play action pass and a sack! So after the penalty a loss of three will bring up third and seven. "Hike". It's a screen to Sam Aiken for three yards and a fourth and four. We'll probably see the punt team come out for the Patriots. And man that was a good punt! He'll return it to the thirty yard line. That will set up this offense pretty good. And here comes the Saint offense for the first time. Heath Evans will be behind the quarter back Tony Collins. "Hike"! Play action pass this defense looks confused and there is a wide open David Thomas the tight end he's running and running and will be brought down inside the twenty! He might not be the fastest guy but he is the best at running his routes. It will be first and ten on the seventeen yard line. 7:46 left to go in the first quarter. Tony Collins alone in the shot gun. "Hike"! He throws a screen pass to Lance Moore and runs to the outside dives... touchdown! Garett Hartley will make the extra point. 7-0 the Saints are winning. Now Garett Hartley will kick it off again. J.Edelman will return it to the 21 yard line. Todd Collins will be under the center."Hike"! He fakes the pitch and looks to throw... sacked!

Chile mine rescue: Chile rejoices as all 33 miners are rescued - latimes.com

Chile mine rescue: Chile rejoices as all 33 miners are rescued - latimes.com
Chile freed the last of 33 miners from imprisonment nearly half a mile underground late Wednesday, the miracle of a second chance at life made real by the methodical shuttle of a battered red, white and blue rescue capsule willed on by a joyful nation and global audience of hundreds of millions.

When 54-year-old foreman Luis Urzua emerged at 9:55 p.m. from the 28-inch-diameter hole that curved deep into the San Jose mine, it had been 69 days since the miners were trapped, 52 days since they were able to declare to the world that they were still alive — but less than 22 hours since the first miner had resurfaced.

"You brought your shift out like a good captain," Chilean President Sebastian Pinera told Urzua, beaming as he gripped the arms of the burly miner who had organized his men for survival during the first crucial hours after they were trapped. "All of Chile shared your anguish and hope

COPPERHEADS

Copperheads live in dry rocky areas. They are named by the copper color of their head. Some copperheads can grow up to 4 or even 5 feet long! A copperheads colors makes hard to see them when there is dead leaves on the floor. Did you know snakes keep on growing until they die.

COTTONMOUTHS

Cottonmouths are also called Water Moccasins.  They live on swamps, along rivers, and streams. They eat frogs, fish, and tadpoles. They spend a lot of time in the water. Did you know... a cottonmouth swims with its head and neck above the water. Snakes can climb trees. Did you know that? When it opens its mouth you see a cotton color. That is how it got it's name. Maybe I'll study cottonmouths when I grow up.

RATTLESNAKES

Rattlesnakes are the most poisonous animals in the united states. There are more than 12 different types. Did you know that rattlesnakes are only found on the western hemisphere? And the rattlesnakes fangs have to fold back when the mouth is closed because the fangs are so long? And that the rattles are called buttons every time the snake sheds its skin it grows a button. Maybe I'll study rattlesnakes when I grow up.

SNAKES AND LIZARDS

Hi, snakes and lizards are ancient animals. They both are reptiles. Modern reptiles were first seen 250 million years ago! All reptiles are cold blooded. That means that their body temperature changes by the things they are standing by. They are more active when the weather is warm. In cold weather they barely move and they crawl into a burrow until the weather changes. Lizards are more common than snakes. Snakes and lizards are alike and different in many ways because snakes don't have legs, snakes don't have any ears in their heads,  snakes don't have real eyelids, and snakes can open their mouth wider. Maybe I'll study more about snakes and lizards when I grow up.

FOOTBALL HERO

This book was written by Tim Green, a defensive end for the Atlanta Falcons. By the way it was Ty's birthday but he didn't care. But then at school coach V asks him to try out for the football team because he was the fastest kid in his class. Then Ty tells coach V that his brother is Thane  Lewis ( a famous college football player for Syracuse). So he tryed for the team made a lot of good plays. And when he gets home Aunt Virginia( his parents died a while ago) was mad because he was late. So she made him go outside and chop wood. His uncle, uncle Gus came home then went to the bar. At the bar thier was a man named Lucy that was very mean. That's funny. Maybe I'll write a book like this some day.

CHAPTER 2 LESSON 2 COMPLEX INVERTEBRATES

Hi! Some of these animals you will learn about might be on your your dinner plate! Mollusks, segmented worms, arthropods, and spiny body animals are all complex invertebrates. Think of a way a octopus and a snail are alike. They don't look alike do they? But both of them are mollusks. Mollusks are very large group of animals. They're grouped by their characteristics. Mollusks are soft invertebrates that can live on  land or any kind of water. A lot of mollusks have shells that protect themselves. Did you know people eat mollusks? Well at least some people do. Would you like a snail for lunch? Segmented worms live on land or water. An arthropod has an outer skeleton, called exoskeleton. Arthropods are the largest group of animals. arthropods live on land or any kind of water. They feed at night at night and hide during the day. Maybe I'll study these animals a little more when I grow up. By.

chapter 2 lesson1 simple invertebrates

Animals that do not have backbones are invertebrates. The simplest invertebrates is the sponge. This sponge is not the kind in your house. Living sponges are found on the ocean floor. They don't move. If a part of the sponge is damaged the cells of the sponge regrow it. This growth is called regeneration. All sting celled animals like the sting ray live in the ocean. Flatworms have long, soft, and flat bodies. If a part of a flatworm was damaged the cells would regrow the part like the sponge. Some flatworms are scavengers. Scavengers feed on organisms. I love the ocean. Maybe I'll study more ocean animals when I grow up.

FOOTBALL NIGHTMARE

I've only read 6 chapters of the Football Nightmare but it's a good book. The Buc quarter back Keith Stedman drops a perfect pass that broke a undefeated streak. He can't get it out of his mind and he thinks he's going to do it again. So he refuses to play for the Bucs. His best friend Heck invites him to the pool. Then he sees all his former teammates. And all they talk about is football and how fun it is to be the quarter back. But he still refuses to play. Until Heck walks away. But Keith doesn't want to play. And then that's when I got to chapter 6. I think he comes and plays again. What do you think? Maybe I'll write a book like this someday.

It has a circus wheel, a mini golf course, boat rides, and all kinds of restaurants. A long time ago a cow started a fire! Because it knocked over a candle!!!! I'm not kidding!
